When You're Facing Injustice

How hard is it to walk into a room knowing the people have gossiped lies about you or your family?

It is hard.

How hard is it to smile and greet someone pleasantly by name even though that person dislikes your husband?

It is hard, very hard.

How hard is it to help someone financially despite the fact that that person helped bring about an injustice against someone you love?

Nearly impossible . . . except for the fact I serve a God of second chances–not only for me but for others. And if I choose to follow God, I must look through the same lens of forgiveness at that person.

And forgiveness will not only bridge impossible chasms or schisms or human prisons but also bring about freedom from hurt and anger and bitterness.
